Freedom Fighters has to be the most amazing well thoughtout game I've seen lately. With its leadership feel and heroic chi of your character, it makes you feel good about yourself.
Story:
It's about the Soviet Union suddenly attacking New York and taking over for the good of America. Although there is a rebellion called Freedom Fighters that fight back against the Soviet Union. You join the Freedom Fighters to save your brother, Troy, from the grasp of the Soviet Leader. Going to parts of the city via sewers, you complete missions to cripple the Soviet Union.
Gameplay:
In the beginning, the controls were difficult. But I managed to get the hang of it after a couple of movements. Sometimes a game can be ruined if you don't take the time to learn the controls. Third Person shooter in which you can control your own squad. Although you cannot control as much as you want, it depends on your charisma. Charisma you earn from saving citizens and fulfilling missions. The more charisma, the bigger the squad. Also you give orders to your squad, such as fall back or recon a position.
Sound:
Music is not really plentiful, but the voice acting is perfect. The voice sets well for each character, depending on their style of attitude. But sometimes music kicks in when there is shooting going on, which gives it that heroic feeling. The music is great, and it is implimented and the right time.
Cons:
The death's effort to look realistic failed, as body parts seem to twist in different directions. Also the inventory setting is strange, what with it's circular graph. Not many cons, easily dealt with.
Story: 9/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Sound: 9.5/10
Bottom Line: 9.7/10
